Walk Away!
Mat 12:14-15 KJV
Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him. But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
It’s okay to walk away! While this is one of the most controversial topics in the Body of Christ today, it is still biblical to walk away from people and things that oppose the work of Christ. Every Christian needs to understand that their purpose in the earth is to do the works of Jesus. We are to yield and depend daily upon the Holy Spirit. The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to make us like Jesus, both in character and power. As we go about doing the works of Jesus, we will face opposition just as he did. It would be wise if we responded just as he did. Jesus is our example!
While it’s true that you love everybody, your greatest love must be for the Father. In our passage above, Jesus healed a man on the sabbath day. They were not happy about his actions, although he was simply doing the works of the Father. They sought to destroy him. What will you do when someone seeks to destroy you? Will you still love them? Might you still pray for them? The answer to these will always be yes when you are walking in the love of God! After all, love (God’s love) wants to hurt no one! In saying that, you must put your love for God and do doing his will above all else!
What did Jesus do when they sought to destroy him? You must see this! Verse 15 says, “But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all.” Jesus removed himself from toxic people who sought to destroy him and it will set you free to do the same!
