Perfect Peace

Isaiah 26:3

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Perfect peace is available to every single person who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! It is not God’s will that we live in turmoil, discouragement, and confusion. It is not God’s will that we live in fear or be worried and depressed. If this is true, then why are so many Christians living this way every day?

God is the author of peace, not confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). God has promised us perfect peace. Jesus is the prince of peace (Isaiah 9:6). It is through Christ that this peace is available to me (John 14:27).

Isaiah 26:3 says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Here we see perfect peace promised, but with two requirements.

First, my mind must be fixed on God’s word. I will never have the peace of God if my focus is continually on things that rob me of peace. You cannot be consumed with this world and have the peace of God. You must fix your mind on the source of peace, God and his word, at all times. It is as I abide in the vine continually (John 15:1-7) that the peace of God will rule my heart (Galatians 5:22). You must be determined to fix your mind on God’s word and not allow anyone or anything to rob of your peace!

Secondly, perfect peace is promised to those who trust God. Hebrews 4:3 says, “We which have believed do enter into God’s rest.” When you not only know what God has promised in his word, but you have faith that he will do just as he’s promised, your heart and mind will be at rest and peace. You will have no worry or concern about what’s to come because you know that your faith is in God and he will do just as he’s promised!

Perfect peace will be a present possession of those who continually renew their minds with the Word of God and trust God to do just as he’s promised! Keep your mind on him today!
