Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
While I am not here to judge the church, I believe the approach that many Christians have taken concerning godly character grieves the heart of God. We definitely live in a society that believes nothing matters and you should just do as you please. There is actually a new slogan the world is promoting that says, “Love yourself first!” Shockingly, many Christians have picked up the same slogan. Why would they do this? The reason is that so many have become self-absorbed and only concerned with how things affect them and their family. The Bible directly contradicts this approach! We are plainly instructed by Jesus to love God first and others second (Matthew 22:36-39). The move of “self love” is actually a sign of the end times (2 Timothy 3:1-5). Don’t fall for the hype, it’s satanic!
What’s much worse is the church of the living God falling into the sin of tolerance and acceptance of things God has rejected all in the name of love. It is possible to love people while still holding firm to the truth of God’s word! People need to hear and receive the life changing truths of God’s word!
Many today say, “What’s the big deal?” I say, “People are dying and going to hell every second of every day.” We are living in times of darkness like never before. People are lost, bound, and struggling in every area of life. On top of that, they have no answers. That is the big deal!
Matthew 5:16 above tells us, “Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” While it’s true it’s very dark in this world, we possess the light! The light is the life of the Lord Jesus Christ living inside of us! How are people going to see this light? How are they going to be exposed to this light? They will only see the light of the Lord Jesus by observing the life we live! Does the life you are living today reflect Jesus to others? Does the life you are living glorify your Father?
Don’t buy the lie that nothing matters! Everything matters! Lives are at stake! Be the witness God has called you to be and others will be added to the kingdom!
