God’s Word is Enough!

Matthew 8:8 KJV

The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

Have you ever been in a tough situation and wondered what else you could do? It is entirely normal to do so. When we are facing financial situations, we very often try and think of ways we could make more money. When facing health issues, we often think of what we could eat or drink differently, or even what another doctor may tell us. While all of this is natural and fine in their place, the Word of God is all we need! When you have God’s Word, you have all you need!

Our text scripture today comes from the healing of a centurion’s servant. His servant is terribly sick. The centurion has heard about Jesus and His ministry and is calling for Him. Jesus told the centurion that He would come and heal his servant. The centurion told Jesus that this would not be necessary. In Matthew 8:8 the centurion said, “… I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.” This man had absolute faith in the power of the words of Jesus Christ to heal his servant! He had authority over 100 men, and they obeyed his words every time he spoke. He knew that Jesus had authority over demons and every evil power so one word from Him would be enough!

There is power in the Word of God to put you over in every area of life! I may not know what you are facing today, but I do know that the Word of God is enough. Go to the Word and get the scriptures that promise you the answer to your problems. Meditate on them and let them sink down in your heart. Then, speak them by faith and praise Him that His Word is true. While things may not change immediately, they have no option but to change.

God’s Word is enough! When the Word of God is all that you have, you have all that you need! Speak the Word and it shall be just as it was told you!
