John 3:16 KJV

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I am very thankful that I was raised with a loving, earthly father. While I am aware that he wasn’t perfect, he endeavored to represent the Father’s love to our family. Understanding a godly father’s love has drastically changed my understanding of Father God’s love for his children.

Many today are scared of God and seem to believe he is more against them than for them. Much of this comes through religion in church and through poor examples of God in our lives. We must go to God’s word to see what he says if we are going to have a proper view of His love and have a healthy relationship with Him.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved, that he gave…” Everything God has done for the world through Jesus was out of love. This love is not natural human love. Natural human love loves you one minute and can hate you the next. This love that God is and has for us is agape’ love, the love of God. The love of God never changes and always seeks the best for the objects of its affection, regardless of circumstances. Get that settled in your mind! Regardless of the current state of your life, God loves you immeasurably and there is nothing you can do to change that fact! You have to have this revelation if you are ever going to have a healthy relationship with God! 

Nothing you do changes God, and God is love (1 John 4:8). God loved you when you were in sin and his enemy, don’t you think he loves you now that you are His child (Romans 5:10)?

Move forward today knowing your father loves you! Let that become a settled fact in your heart! If you fail, get up and run back to him and watch him receive you back with open arms!
