Faithfulness Brings Fruitfulness!

Proverbs 28:20 (KJV)

A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

I read a statement some time back by the late Billy Graham which said, “I never did any great thing for God, I only did something every day.” Almost everyone knows who Billy Graham is. His calling was to minister the salvation message. He would stand in auditoriums and coliseums, share this simple message of Jesus our Savior, and thousands would come and give their hearts to the Lord.

Many would wonder how he was used so mightily by God. How did he get to that place to stand in front of thousands? Then they think of themselves and what God has placed in their hearts. It often seems so big that we wonder how it could ever happen.

I have found from my own walk with God that it’s not so much as what you have that God is concerned with, it’s what you are doing with what you have. In Matthew 25 Jesus tells about three different individuals who were given talents. One was given five, another two, and another one. The individual who gave five talents and the one who gave two talents stewarded their talents wisely and they multiplied. While the one who had only one talent did not sow out of fear and received no return. In v. 21 Jesus said to the faithful stewards, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful (trustworthy) over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things.”

Don’t be moved by how much or by how little you currently have. Don’t be moved by how far along you are or how far you see that you have to go. Just be faithful with what you currently have, where you currently are, and God will increase you as promised!
