Do You Have Time For Jesus?

Luke 10:42 TPT

Mary has discovered the one thing most important by choosing to sit at my feet. She is undistracted, and I won’t take this privilege from her.”

We live in a world of busyness! Most people today pass themselves coming and going. Between work, school, sports, hobbies, family, and even church, there is little to no time left. There is always something else that needs to be done and it needs to be done now.

When Laura Leigh and I first started out, this is how we lived. We just thought it was the way it was supposed to be because it was what everyone else was doing. The only problem was that it did not produce a life of peace and joy. It was a life that was simply overwhelming! Is this how God wants us to live? Of course not! This is simply the pattern of the world that the Bible tells us not to follow (Romans 12:1-2).

As Christians, we are to follow God’s plan, not man’s. In our text passage we see Mary and Martha. Jesus has come to their house. Martha is busy with all that has to be done, but Mary is at the feet of Jesus. Martha is not happy with this and wants Jesus to tell Mary to get in the kitchen and help her. Instead, Jesus corrects Martha and commends Mary! Jesus said, “Mary is undistracted and has chosen the most important thing.” There is nothing more important in your life than your time with Jesus!

If you will commit today to give your first and best to Jesus, you will never regret it!
