Jeremiah 33:3 KJV

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Every single believer has the ability to communicate with their loving, Heavenly Father. The very moment you surrender your life to the Lord Jesus, your relationship with the Father is restored. We should always know what to do and when to do it. Our very steps are ordered by the Lord (Psalms 37:23). The Word of God tells us to come boldly to His throne to obtain whatever it is we need (Hebrews 4:16).

If this is true, then why is it that so many Christians stay in a state of confusion and discouragement? I do not say this to condemn, but only to point out the obvious. While there are many reasons for this, I want to keep this very simple.

1) Get on the Right Wavelength

If you want to watch the ballgame, do you go to HGTV?

If you want to get caught up with current events, do you go to ESPN?

If you want to hear good faith building messages, do you go to MSNBC or Fox?

Of course not! Why? You wouldn’t go to those stations because they do not have or deliver what it is that you are looking for! Well, if you want to hear God, where would you go?

There are some simple truths that we must understand or we will never hear from God. We will be constantly guessing and trying instead of hearing and obeying. Let’s look at a few.

Truth: God is a Spirit

John 4:24 KJV

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Now, why do most Christians, who are children of God, live in a state of confusion and lack of direction? The problem is a communication problem. God does not guide his people through their minds (soulical), their feelings, or through external circumstances. God guides his people through spirit to spirit communication.

Truth: We are spirit beings

2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

What is it that becomes brand new? Does our body change at salvation? Do our souls (mind, will, and emotions) change at salvation? According to the Word of God you will have the same body and same soul that you had before. You have to do something with your body and soul. If these do not change, then what changes? When you are born again you become a new creature with a new nature! Your spirit man is recreated, made brand new by the Spirit of the living God!

Truth: Our communication is by the Spirit

Romans 8:16 KJV

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

The moment you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, something changed! It wasn’t your body and it wasn’t your mind. You sensed a changed down on the inside. Your spirit man became brand new. Your access to God, through Jesus Christ, was restored at that very moment. You now have the ability to walk and talk with Him.

We have a guide on the inside! Remember, your direction has NOTHING to do with current situations and circumstances. It has nothing to do with what you’ve been through or what others think. Your answer does not come from those places or people. Your answer comes from the Holy Spirit speaking to your spirit!

John 16:13 KJV

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Romans 8:14 KJV

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

The Spirit of truth is the Holy Spirit. He communicates to my spirit what he hears the Father and the Son saying. God speaks to me and you by His spirit. The wavelength we must be on is spirit to spirit communication!

If you have been frustrated and discouraged because you feel that God is not speaking to you, what should you check? Make sure that you are tuned in to the right wavelength and you will ALWAYS know what to do and which way to go. The answer lies within you!

1 John 5:10 KJV

He that believeth on the Son of God HATH THE WITNESS IN HIMSELF: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
