Galatians 6:7 KJV

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Every year as we come to the end of one year and the beginning of another, many wonder what is ahead. You hear many different prophecies, many contradicting each other, about what God will do in the next year. While I fully believe in prophecy and the Gift of Prophecy (1 Corinthians 12:10), we are not to live by prophecy. We are to live by the Word of God (Matthew 4:4). 

The Lord has dealt with me strongly about this concerning the future. Several years ago he told me we were coming into a time of harvest. I immediately began to proclaim this boldly and celebrate with everyone I could. During another time of prayer the Lord began to correct me about this. He said, “You are presenting harvest time wrongly to my people. Harvest time is not a time of celebration for all. For those who’ve obeyed me and sown right seeds, yes, they will celebrate, but for those who’ve disobeyed me and gone their own way, it will be a time of destruction and great sorrow.” I corrected this immediately and have been presenting it properly ever since! 

While everyone wants a positive word, that is not always right. While I believe in encouraging everyone, sometimes you need to encourage them to repent. God’s way is best!

So, what does 2023 hold? I can tell you it will not be the same for everyone. You will see two different extremes. You will see those who’ve walked by faith and trusted God, although they’ve faced much opposition, overcome and walk in great victory. You will also see those who’ve decided to follow the world, the devil, and their own flesh, enter into destruction like never before. 

As we look back to our text scripture, we see that God said, “… whatever a man sows, that shall he reap.” What you will see in your life in 2023 will be the harvest of the seeds sown in 2022! It will only be a new year and new you IF you choose to obey God and do what he tells you to do!
